The Second Chance tournament from 10/17-10/28 will allow two players out of 18 in the field who haven't won enough games to make the TofC to get a spot in the TofC. Three players play each of Mon Tue and Wed, with those winners playing a two-game total point final on Thu and Fri, Winner of that goes to the TofC. That process will continue for a second week, giving a second person a spot in the TofC.

I'd of had less than 18 and give the super champs a bye into the semis and have a 2 game semi and 3 game final ala UTOC
I think if they have it like normal tourney, then (I think) a super champ goes out in the quarters no matter how they seed

I suspect they're going to sequester Matt A, Amy S, and Mattea R from playing against each other to attempt to get the three of them in the finals.

Ok, so let's run the numbers.
15 spots in the TOC = Top 11 Champs + 2 Second Chance Winners + 1 College Tournament Champ + 1 Professors Tournament Champ;
This means the top 29 champions from regular game play will be returning. The top 11 will be getting "byes" directly into the TOC, and the remaining 18 will be split into two groups of 9 to compete for the last two TOC spots, via two second chance tournaments.

I feel like Jeopardy shouldn't have celebs, but they are missing a great opportunity on having Weird Al on since he is partly responsible for the show coming back in the mid 80s

It was known by early 1984 that the show would be back for Fall 1984, and the album the Weird Al song was on came out in early 1984, and it was SUmmer 1984 when the song was a minor pop hit(and a parody of a song that was a little more than a year old at the time) and the video got sone airplay on MTV. Also, the video had Art Fleming and the set was modeled after the Art Fleming set.

I feel like Jeopardy shouldn't have celebs... They've gotten though full games during Trebek's time, and they've done multiple weeks of celebrity specials. So... Bad take?

I think Jeopardy!'s 13-week celebrity tournament is the first time a game show tournament has lasted for that long since Scrabble's $100,000 All-American Tournament in the Fall of 1986, is it?
