Ok, so let's run the numbers. 15 spots in the TOC = Top 11 Champs + 2 Second Chance Winners + 1 College Tournament Champ + 1 Professors Tournament Champ; This means the top 29 champions from regular game play will be returning. The top 11 will be getting "byes" directly into the TOC, and the remaining 18 will be split into two groups of 9 to compete for the last two TOC spots, via two second chance tournaments. (Please keep in mind that I am typing this only having watched one TOC episode, so I may have made some mistakes.)
So it was really 21 spots in the TOC. The 21 TOC contestants = Top 17 Champs + 2 Second Chance Winners + 1 College Tournament Champ + 1 Professors Tournament Champ.
For the first time, the top three Super Champs (MA, AS, and MR) were all seeded directly into one of the three semi-final matches.
The other 18 TOC contestants competed in six quarter-finals matches, with only the six winners advancing and NO wild cards. The six winners joined MA, AS and MR in the semi-finals, for a total of 9 semi-finalists across the three matches. Three semi-finals produced three winners for the best-of-seven finals.
And of course I was mistaken in assuming that second chance contestants were all prior J! champions.

Finals begin on Monday. It is a best of 7 format like in the 2020 GOAT series, the first contestant to win three games wins $250,000

The Primetime Celebrity Jeopardy episode for 11/13/2022 on the J-Archive website has the Jeopardy and the Double Jeopardy round, but the Triple Jeopardy round is missing.

I would like to add a few comments on Celebrity Jeopardy.
I like the format. I think the one hour, three round format is a great compromise for celebrities on Jeopardy. As has been already mentioned, forcing celebrities to play in a 30 minute format using the same timing rules as in a regular episode resulted in many unrevealed clues. This new format allows for more relaxed, informal game play while still revealing all the clues. I enjoy the celebrity banter during the game. During the Ray Romano episode, MB lightheartedly (and rightfully) called out the celebs for being "all business" heading into a break, and they loosened up after that.
Having said that, a single episode is a lot to consume in a single sitting. So Mrs. JohnnyO and I have been watching a single Celebrity Jeopardy episode over multiple viewings. A typical night will find us pairing up a single round of Celebrity Jeopardy with a full episode of regular Jeopardy.

Amy wins. The casual fan will forget that she blew a chance to win in 5.

Of course. I would watch Jeopardy last night. If "owned" was actually used on the show, Cris owned his opponents.

Last night, Cris had his reign end. Now we're back to having one-day champions for a little bit... I hope.
Case in point today. New champion two days in a row.

Expect plenty of updates to come to the J! Archive, courtesy of Adam Nedeff and company, including (yes, you read this correctly), Barbara Lowe’s episodes.
