Speaking of conversions, it appears only the first couple of episodes of the original $25,000 Pyramid were ever transferred to digital, even though all 150 of them are said to exist. That's probably why we don't have access to all the tape dates for that. And I wouldn't doubt the same would apply to the 1980's version.

It will never be fully known what happened to the Nov 1983-May 1985 and Apr-Oct 1987 Pyramid daytime shows. There really isn't a network that would be airing them, except maybe GameTV in Canada, since they did pull a left field surprise and picked up Tic.

GSN said in 1997 in an ATGS post that they have the entire run, which would include both November 1983-May 1985 and April-October 1987 portions. I just don't see how could suddenly, something strange happen to those 485 episodes that GSN didn't play.

THey claimed to have 260 episodes of $20K Pyramid, of which they showed only a few dozen IIRC.

When we said the daytime soap stars appearing on another network's game shows, I mean, booking the daytime soap stars from another network very frequently can cause a quick cancellation, and that determined the quick cancellation of The New Battlestars because of them booking a lot of soap stars from another network instead of booking the daytime soap stars on the network they're on. Celebrity Hot Potato had to learn something about booking the daytime soap stars after the first week of the Chain Reaction-like format, so the May 1984 week featured the nighttime stars from all networks vs. daytime soap stars from SFT, DOOL and AW.

Here are some more "Pyramid" tape dates.
Looks like John Schuck replaced Nathan Cook on less than 24 hours' notice. His week against Shelley Smith taped on October 18th, one day after Nathan had been announced to be Shelley's opponent.

An observation about the 10/18/85 taping session: Since Nathan Cook had to be replaced that day, a logical solution would have been for Nipsey Russell, who was taping his five $100K episodes that day, to take his place. Only problem was that Nipsey was hosting "Your Number's Up" at the time, which was airing on NBC directly opposite the $25K.

Your Number's Up was plugged on $100K Pyramid, as was Double Talk, but never on $25K for obvious reasons.

On yesterday's GameTV broadcast of "The $100,000 Pyramid" (from early October 1985), there were two contestants who won their respective Winner's Circle rounds ($10,000 apiece), and both of them are in the running for the Tournament, which would take place later in November 1985. Would this amazing occurrence of two players qualifying for the tournament on the same episode occur again later in the series? Assuming GameTV leases portions of Season 1 by season (fall, winter, and spring/summer), we may end up seeing the first tournament of the series in a matter of weeks. I did discover on the Bob Stewart Wiki that there were two straight weeks of "The $100,000 Pyramid" in November 1985 - including the tournament - in which Henry Polic II served as the male celebrity. My best guess is that Nathan Cook was probably scheduled for one of those weeks, but was unavailable due to commitments with another show's production. I am thinking that Henry Polic II may have been the one who covered for Nathan Cook at the time. The celebrities on this week's GameTV's airings, Shelley Smith and Henry Polic II, would be the celebrities during the series' first ever tournament week. My question is, did the $100,000 winner have Shelley Smith as the clue giver during that Winner's Circle round? I heard something about Shelley being one of the most successful celebrity players on "Pyramid" and other game shows. Your Number's Up was plugged on $100K Pyramid, as was Double Talk, but never on $25K for obvious reasons. Was it plugged by Nipsey Russell? Also, if Russell wasn't available for appearing on "The $100,000 Pyramid" in the fall of 1985, I would think he plugged the show in at least one episode during the episodes aired from December 2 to 6, 1985, since tapings of "Your Number's Up" likely ceased by mid-October 1985 and "Your Number's Up" was still airing new episodes for three more weeks when he made his first appearance of "The $100,000 Pyramid". I did record several game shows on Beta tape on Christmas Day 1985, including a "Press Your Luck" from that date which was pretty elusive, until 2014. I know, among the game shows I recorded were: "Break the Bank" (supposedly after Rayburn left, and still had the "earn seconds format" but not for much longer) "The $25,000 Pyramid" "Press Your Luck" (Christmas Day 1985) "Your Number's Up" went off the air just recently by that point in 1985. I only recall seeing one episode in the original run on October 14, 1985 when I was off from school that day because of Thanksgiving Day in Canada.

When Dick Clark mentioned the 14th of 15 shows they had done in a row, I wonder if he was referring to 15 they did in two days or if they actually did 15 in one day at least once. Betty White said on Vicki Lawrence's talk show that Dick had done 15 episodes in a day, and Vicki backed that up, saying that he did 30 episodes in a weekend.
