Can anyone tell me which game show won the Best Primetime Game Show Emmy at the Primetime Emmy Awards? Because I missed it by accident and i'm curious to know which game show won today, Kelsey

none of the above because the game show category was'nt even involved at Primetime Emmys last night. Basically, Game Show nominees are part of the Daytime Emmys. Jane Lynch of Hollywood Game Night won the Creative Arts Emmy for outstanding host.

The Daytime Emmys - remember them? - do give out awards for best game show and best game show host. In 2014 Jeopardy won the game show award for the umpteenth time, and Steve Harvey won his first award for game show host.
Did I ever mention that I'm bored to death with show biz awards shows?

Did I ever mention that I'm bored to death with show biz awards shows? Not here, but I don't think I could sit and watch an awards show like others can.

I despise Hollywood. Period. However, I don't mind watching shows like the Emmys, Golden Globes, Academy Awards, those shows. I couldn't care less about MTV Award shows, Kids Choice, Teen/People Choice, etc. Too many damn award shows to count, and most of these (like the ones I listed that I couldn't care less about) are unnecessary. Except for people who like these shows, like young'uns.
GSN only had one Game Show Awards show in 2009. It got decent numbers if I recall. Those awards are fine for a network like GSN who is a game show network. The daytime emmys apparently don't appeal to most people. I remember watching The 25k Pyramid one day, Dick promoted them, and apparently back then the daytime emmys were actually on during the day.
The Game Show Awards were pretty fun. Guess it would be too much to do one every year for our small cable network.
Anyways, I've got favorite celebrities, but Hollywood in general, too much kissing up. Its like Matthew McConaughey is God himself, I don't like him anyway. You'll know what I'm talking about if you watched on Monday evening though.

I don't think half of the people watching knew about that unless they followed the news about it, or are registered on GSN's Forums. Really, I don't remember this being all over the news. I remember the story, I just don't recall it being on Network, Cable, Local News.
A news story like this doesn't get people to watch. If it does, it's a small portion of people. People watched to try it out, and because they love game shows, for the most part.
Maybe if it was for the Emmys, and there was a big news story surrounding them, then maybe people would watch then because thats an award show that attracts a lot of viewers, for example. But news stories, for the most part don't attract viewers. People watch shows to watch them, in my view.

I remember the story, I just don't recall it being on Network, Cable, Local News. It uh, definitely made all of the tabloid news shows, which, like it or not, a lot of people watch. GSN's forums made up probably jack and crap of the amount of viewers that watched that awards show. It made the tabloids and various internet news places (IE. E!, CollegeHumor) because of the "old person does wacky things" appeal that Betty White and Bob Barker have amongst the college student crowd (IE. "old guy beating up Adam Sandler!! LOL!!" "oh that wacky Betty White is hitting on that young guy!! LOL!!") and the idea of two old people feuding about something seemingly trivial to the Facebook crowd. Plus it led to the public noticing Bob's... erm... other past negative moments that only the game show/television community really knew of before then.

Well, I don't have a need for tabloid news. It's for people who actually give a crap about celebrities. I saw it online, and there are a lot of people who don't watch tabloid news shows as well. If I want any news on anything, I'll watch my local news or cable news. If people actually tuned in because of this, then they had nothing else to do, or watch, with all the hundreds of TV channels out there. They just wanted to get in on this, and frankly, I don't think anything of a big deal happened at the GSA's. If it really got decent numbers because of this, they could've done a second one to be sure.

Kind of sucks in a way. Whats the point in having an award show if it's a one time thing? Most last, such as MTV's awards. GSN is no MTV, but you know.

Most last, such as MTV's awards. MTV's VMAs are going to be obsolete in a few years. If not, I'm eating my own socks.

Nobody makes music videos like they used to. Exactly. Gone are the days when you didn't have to be flashy in order to put something good out. Now you have to over-sexualize the thing to make the song seem like it's going to be good (in all honesty, it's really not). I wouldn't mind a simple, back-to-basics music video these days. It's not going to happen, however.

Male singers used to act like gentlemen. Very few are considered gentlemen-like. Sent from my GT-P5113 using proboards
