I knew Rod Roddy wasn't a problem. His voice was kept in recent anniversary specials on CBS.

I still call BS until we see a promo or a press release confirming it.

It's weird that GSN would get this show first before Buzzr, whose parent company actually owns the show, if it is so.

What are the odds the source is "The Waldorf Salad" (Sally Walsh), the same source who claimed there would be 1984 episodes of Sale of the Century on GSN?

That's the first full season without Janice and Kathleen. Rod is still announcing for a fair amount of that season, and was still shown on camera from time to time that season(IIRC it was the folllowing season Fremantle stopped showing him so much on camera) So if this it true, Barker and/or Fremantle doesn't have an issue with Rod episodes being shown at least. I'd have expected to see a Drew Csrey season on GSN over a Barker season. I'd also more expect to see TPIR on Buzzr than GSN. Yesterday was the 19th anniversary of the last TPIR airing on GSN. It turns out that the claim that Rod Roddy was banned from reruns has been proven to be an underestimation. Plus, the 2001-02 season of TPIR was the final season involving three permanent models.
Also, didn't Claudia Jordan (who was a cast member that season) later file a lawsuit against the show? For Season 30 to be acquired by GSN (if true), there obviously may not be a ban on certain cast members, otherwise Claudia Jordan's likeness would not have been used in the DVD game released in 2005.
Very interesting acquisition. It will be very interesting to find out what episodes will air, and if the series will replace some of the Match Game airings. I may watch and maybe record a few episodes from that season if they air on weekends.
But the only way we will find out about an acquisition of 2001-2002 season TPIR, will be if we see promos in the coming weeks, or a press release in text to say the least.

TPIR probably can't air at a time slot where the current CBS TPIR would be airing. Perhaps it airs at Noon-1PM and they ditch WOF for it. That's if they're picking up TPIR.

If this were coming to GSN, Buzzerblog for one would know about it before any of us or Casey Abell would.

I believe what's going on here is that Barker was the one who demanded to cut Rod's camera time. It was arguments over salary between him and Barker.
