The only reason GSN doesn't run more of them is because they get ancient demos and not very big overall audiences. Then why not remove what little's left altogether? I'm not going to say "woe is me" and try to make up some oddball idea about how GSN will suddenly remove their pre-2000s programming. Hopefully - and this is a big word - if GSN ever does said removal... They'll put an original from the mid-2000s up. (Wet dream, I know. Shut up and let me have that dream.) From your first sentence: GSN tried to chip in to their pre-1990's programming last year with shows from the 2000's decade like O'Hurley Feud (replaced Match Game at 8am and lasted one week to get taken back by Match Game), and also tried Shop 'Til You Drop at 10am and Catch 21 at 10:30am. Those last two changes lasted less than three months are were replaced by Card Sharks and The $25,000 Pyramid. The limited GSN morning audience only wants pre-1990's and nothing else. From your second sentence: Your idea of a 2000's original in the morning is not a dream or thinking extreme. Whammy! seems to be doing pretty well at 11am and 11:30am currently. Its 11am single run turned into a double run at the end of last summer and has been around for quite a while. If The $25,000 Pyramid goes in May once that lease expires (speculated, but makes sense, as Casey notes that we do not know for sure when leases expire), then I could see shows like Lingo (Woolery), Family Feud (Karn) and Chain Reaction (Lane) making their way to the pre-noon lineup.

It's kind of funny, GSN used to be the Deal or No Deal network back in 2009/2010 but it didn't air as much as Harvey Feud is now. I don't think Karn/O'Hurley Feud ever aired as much as Harvey does now. Deal didn't have as many episodes as the modern Feud does, but people thought it was bad in 2009, look at it now.

I also noticed that Match Game '79 is still airing. I don't know what episode number is the CBS finale. Per MatchGame.org, the last CBS show was #1455.

I don't think Karn/O'Hurley Feud ever aired as much as Harvey does now. Deal didn't have as many episodes as the modern Feud does, but people thought it was bad in 2009, look at it now. From pure memory, Karn Feud aired six times a day, at most, for the period of time from 2009-12. At one point each weekday, I remember it was something on the nature of 9:30am, 4pm, 4:30pm, 8pm, 10pm and 1am ET. Then a few more slots on weekends but not as much as 6 airings per day on Saturday or Sunday. The "older is better" crowd really complained about that, especially the 9:30am slot. Currently, Harvey Feud airs in 90 slots per week (an average of 13 slots per day). The least amount of airtime Harvey Feud gets is on Wednesday and Friday, with 10 slots for each of those days. O'Hurley Feud I recall peaking around 2010-12, airing a little less than Karn. The GSN crowd always favored the Karn version over the O'Hurley version during the time period where they both aired a lot, usually back to back (2009-13). DOND, at its GSN rerun height in 2009-11, aired 4 times each weekday and sporadically on weekends.

Re: Match Game #1455: That CBS finale should air on April 4th before reverting back to the start of the lease with the syndicated debut.
If memory serves correctly, the previous lease of CBS Match Game (75-77) never went through two full cycles. The way things are going, this lease might very well complete two full cycles. I think there were fewer episodes in this latest lease.

I was being sarcastic, actually. I like older shows a lot, but I try some new shows. Therefore I'm a "Neither is better but prefer oldies" crowd.

I don't see why it should be a terrible thing to say "Older Is Better". A lot of people say that for a reason. Because older games in general seemed to have more of a heart to them. They didn't seem as rushed or as forced, like they are now.

They didn't seem as rushed or as forced, like they are now. Or they didn't kill time with unnecessary fillers. CBS, I'm looking at you. With the amount of time Wayne Brady and company stall to let the traders do their profession, they could do one more quick deal.

Then again, is Wayne Brady's Let's Make A Deal even really about the deals anymore?
I think Deal or No Deal was probably the best example of unnecessary fillers. And even discounting that, this was a show that'd take eight hours to tape a single game.

Regarding the bold: I'm not rehashing anything you already know, but episodes for the syndie version were filmed in roughly an hour. But if the primetime version really took eight hours, I would have asked for a caffeine rush and a few trips to the bathroom.
