Very excited for Jim Perry's Card Sharks. I'm guessing these will be from late 1979.
LMAD is a pleasant shocker. It look like the online schedule shows the Vegas Finale will be one of the episodes. I'm very interested to see what will happen from here.

"Each Saturday night beginning December 23, our little game show network will run a four-hour oldies block 7:00 PM-11:00 PM (Eastern time). The block for the first few weeks will be an hour each of Match Game, Press Your Luck, Jim Perry's Card Sharks, and Monty Hall's Let's Make a Deal. This is not just a holiday stunt, according to the accompanying GSN e-mail." I'm actually excited about this. I can't be the only one.

I'm sort of excited. Well, I am excited. But I won't exactly make it a point to watch. If I think about it or if nothing else is on or if I'm just flipping back and forth, maybe I'll put them on.
This is an interesting move though. Maybe this new regime at GSN wants to cater to fans of old game shows as well, even on a Saturday night. Really cool. This would be a nice trend to see continue.

The fact they're adding three shows (two if you're one who counts Perry and Eubanks Card Sharks as the same thing) is really cool.
The one that's the most puzzling to me is Let's Make a Deal. That show has been virtually absent from the network for 8 years (with the exception of the tribute last October), and now it gets an hour on Saturday night prime time.
This is a very fun interesting development. Makes me wonder what's going on, but I'm not going to overthink this one.

That's a pleasant surprise. I might actually watch GSN at that time frame now. I think this is a step in the right direction.

Hopefully this is a springboard for more shows and fresh leases to make their way onto the network.
I wonder if this Saturday night time slot is a litmus test to see how well classic shows do outside of the weekday morning block.

I wonder if this Saturday night time slot is a litmus test to see how well classic shows do outside of the weekday morning block. I don't know about that. It's possible. I remember "Flashback Friday's" they had for awhile in 2011-2012 and by the shows standards, did okay, but not great. That was when GSN had those theme nights. I guess GSN gradually got away from theme nights.

I agree with the new Saturday night schedule starting next week. Except for Match Game, they consist of shows that are currently leased, or in the case of Let's Make a Deal, episodes previously aired as part of the Monty Hall tribute marathon last October.
It definitely takes a cutting of the Family Feud overdose on Saturdays for sure.
Also, speaking of Saturdays, it turns out The Newlywed Game replaces Deal or No Deal on Saturday mornings, at least. Not sure about Sunday mornings at this point. I am thinking the lease for NBC Deal or No Deal may soon be expiring.

Any reason for LESS of the God awful Harvey FF is GREAT NEWS for the world!! Love that GSN is finally giving the classics the time they deserve, even if it is just a wee bit of time. Really, this needs to improve. Replacing the even more God Awful "new" Newlywed Game with whatever she is with Bob Eubanks classic version, esp. his '60's version would be a dream come true. I only hope that the Match Games that they play will be one's that haven't been played to death on Buzzr already. Maybe even that hour long Match Game/Hollywood Palace would be a fantastic change. More of the same episodes over again only in prime time is not an improvement. Playing Match Game from the beginning to the end including the Match Game PMs as GSN did do when they first started would also be a dream come true.

Between the classics on Saturday nights, the holiday marathons, Chris Harrison Millionaire in afternoons, and the renewed emphasis on "Game Show Network", I'm definitely liking this new regime so far.

Looking at zap2it, the two episodes for Card Sharks are listed as December 24 & 31 of 1979. According to the GSN schedule Match Game will be episodes #1095 and #1096. The 10:30pm episode of Let's Make a Deal lists the big deal being worth $12,000, which is how much it was worth on the Vegas finale. That's all the information I could gather on what will be airing next Saturday.
Seems to me they're burning off leases of older shows they are currently not airing, using Match Game as a lead-in to try to build an audience. It seems like a weird place to burn off leases (if that's what they're doing), but whatever. I'm happy with these. It seems the new regime is trying new things.

We'll find out soon enough. And then there's agm828 saying the zap2it listings are wrong.

Sounds like GSN or Screener TV is going by the Wiki episode guide I created that is currently in development. There apparently is no other episode guide for Eubanks' Card Sharks with broader information on the Internet. Nicholas Mooneyhan's guide is very much incomplete, as 1987 has everything left blank except for January and February. And also, everything is left blank from mid-April 1988 to the end of the series.
The changes to my guide were made last Thursday after learning that an October 1987 episode (Myrt vs. Lori) was omitted and not added to the guide until this past Thursday.

Great, great news about the Saturday night classics block. And I so appreciate you posting the info from Game Show Follies. I may keep subscribing to GSN for awhile just for that. Certainly not meaning to rekindle an argument, but the Clark Pyramid discussion got me curious: When was the last time they did one of those New Year's Eve marathons? Seemed like it wasn't that long ago, but it may well have been. Again, really don't care when the show airs (and neither does my DVR); just curious.
