Christmas 1987 of Card Sharks will pick up where it left off with Jaime Vs. Jerry and at Game 2, Question 2 tomorrow. agm828 Thank you for pointing out that the episodes listed on zap2it were a day off. I was furious for a moment when someone claimed that an episode might be skipped due to a seemingly disturbing incident with an Ostrich. But apparently, It was NOT Sunny Vs. David when such incident happened, but rather Jeremy Vs. Amanda, which was during the second Christmas week. Look at the clip below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajb87uDShbU&t=66s

According to zap2it, the Saturday night episodes of Card Sharks with Jim Perry have airdates of January 2 & 3, 1980. Now I really hope this development lingers a few weeks. Also, per the online GSN schedule, Wheel of Fortune gets a New Year's Day Marathon from 8:00am-2:00pm. That one show that nobody around here seems to like will air from 2:00pm-10:00pm. And I'm not sure if this will be a schedule change or not, but Who Wants To Be a Millionaire gets the 10:00pm hour. And latenights revert back to what they were previously. It makes me wonder if the episodes of Perry's Card Sharks are a fresh lease, or if they are a continuation from where the daytime run left off in November 2016? This latest return of Perry's Card Sharks means that we get to see that version in 2017, if just four episodes. Great to see that Perry's era now enters the 1980s.

I believe the daytime run was at December 1979 when it was pulled last year.

Now, to find out if Zach Horan was right or not about there being no show on Christmas Day 1987.
Well, this IS Zach Horan we're talking about here.

Alright, 1972 I've Got A Secret is on! I wish they would've featured more of these, but I'll take what I can get. Did anyone happen to record it? I missed it, I heard it was one GSN hasn't aired in ages (featuring Vincent Price).

Okay, let's recap:
The 2nd episode of YPW '87 of CS ended with Troy Vs. Lisa after the first question of Game 1. The 3rd episode ended with Lisa losing the Prize Package game.
In a very strange development, the women Basketball players were replaced with Santas in the 3rd episode. This is like the 1986 Syndicated episodes with Rafferty, only the Santas were there for all of the first of the two weeks.
I've carefully compiled the data on all the '87 Christmas episodes from Gameshowfavorites. Gameshowfavorites didn't have Andrew vs. Karen in his collection, and I don't know if there was one more he didn't have, which would make it nine. He only had these:
Sunny vs. David Jaime vs. Jerry Troy vs. Lisa Gretchen vs. Mike Lonnie vs. Alice Jeff vs. Sharalee Jeremy vs. Amanda (ep. #519)

I bet the Santas are only prevalent for the two days prior to December 25th. I believe the audience polling group was different during the last week of 1987.
Another telltale sign of a possible December 25, 1987 pre-emption, is if tomorrow's 9:30 a.m. ET airing, is if, to say the least, the audience polling group is not Santas or basketball players, and/or if Bob Goen starts making his cameo appearances to plug Blackout.
Jeremy vs. Amanda is definitely Ep. 519, as per video upload by John Ricci, Jr., so chances are pretty good that there was indeed a pre-emption on Christmas Day 1987. Or, if Bob wishes a Merry Christmas at the end of tomorrow's 9:00 a.m. ET airing.
If Santas are the audience poll group on tomorrow's 9:30 a.m. ET airing, then Zach's claim will be debunked, and I will not be buying any of his claims anymore.

I was trying to watch Holiday episodes of Card Sharks this morning but there was a unexpected blackout glitch interfering on my cable box but if anyone has link to it then i'll watch it for myself.

I wonder what the original airdates of WML and IGAS for the week of 12/25/17 on GSN will be.

I really hope the blackout glitch is more a local problem and not a widespread problem.
Thankfully, I have Bell Aliant, so there may not be any problems. What cable provider do you use, agm?

I see that nobody has posted a summary of this morning's CS airing. The more I think about it, it might be a blackout problem with GSN and not the cable provider. I hope this is not the case.

I've got the summary now. Sorry for the delay: New match begins for Gretchen Vs. Mike. Prize Package game lost, unfortunately. Afterwards, a new match begins with Lonnie Vs. Alice. This episode ends at Game 1, Question 4. Son of a female Dog: Zach Horan WAS right. There were just four episodes during Christmas week. After two episodes with the Santas, we're now seeing the presence of animal trainers and their animals (for Educated Guess questions) and ten women who are moms in the audience. No sign of Bob Goen just yet. Prize package lost again, sadly. The 9:30 a.m. EST/6:30 a.m. PST showing ended with Jeff Vs. Sheralee at Game 1, Question 1. Also, Bob Eubanks didn't mention Christmas on 12/28, like he did on 12/24. agm828 It's Allen Ludden and Carol Channing (from August 26, 1962; recorded on June 17 of that year) for WML on 12/26 (3:00 a.m. EST/12:00 a.m. PST).

That really gives me optimism for seeing the episodes in full. I think it's safe to say it was a glitch on agm828's cable provider's part.
The last of the holiday-decorated episodes airs tomorrow, and there is likely something incredible happening on tomorrow's 9:30 a.m. ET airing.
I wonder if the so-called Andrew vs. Karen episode may have been a Young People's Week episode in the spring of 1988? I got the contestants' names from Game Show Favorites, and it was listed so close to the Christmas 1987 episodes, so I assumed it was the December 31, 1987 episode.
If there are references to the new year or 1988 in tomorrow's latter airing, it will be pretty clear that there was indeed another pre-emption for holiday programming or maybe football coverage on December 31, 1988, since it would be a long weekend during New Year's Eve/Day. And if it was pre-empted on New Year's Eve 1987, chances are there may have been no pre-emption of Card Sharks on January 20, 1989 despite being George H.W. Bush's inauguration that day, and maybe only TPIR was pre-empted that day.
At least Zach was right once for a change.
