Joseph is Splinkynip, who was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune in Christmas 1987 for a teen week. He said he remembered 95% of Classic Concentration's original run, and that 95% of information is represented in his excellent notes.
I don't know how to send his notes to you on this site. They're in an excel format.

On Classic Concentration, we almost saw someone win Game 1 before the first segment was over. THAT would have been something. As far as car wins go, we know there was one on October 20, because Lana Love won hers on October 27.

Now, each Halloween week was meant to differ with a Halloween theme each year to open the episodes with, for instance, 1988 was "Monster Mash", 1989 was supposed to be "Ghostbusters" and 1990 was "Thriller" with the fake animated blood coming down the screen. Halloween 1988 lasted for 6 episodes and 2 Car wins, Halloween 1989 lasted for only 2 episodes and Halloween 1990 lasted for 3 episodes and 6 Car attempts, one of which had a Car win at a base time.

Do we know there was one in 1989? I haven't seen any episodes from that year.

I have been falling a little further behind on CC, and I expect that I will have close to 70 episodes on the DVR when the fresh episodes stop this week. With the sports network scrambling to fill time, I have been indulging watching the numerous old games from the archives of MLB, NFL, etc. These are all HD, and take up more DVR space, so I need to watch them quickly to keep enough space available.
But I have been watching (and only watching, no note taking, lol) Narz Concentration, and I wanted to comment on a few interesting game variations here.
1) Some games have numbers with a "Free Look" space instead of a prize. When that appears, the game stops, that space is opened, and the contestant gets a free guess. 2) I have seen a game where the contestant was allowed to open up to 3 boxes on each turn to try and make a match. I believe that the "Bonus Number" prize was not included in this game. 3) A few episodes have had time for a third main game, called the "Money Game". No head starts, and, instead of prizes, each number had an amount of a non-US denominated currencies (e.g., '200 Drachmas').

Judge Kemp posted most of today's 1:30PM 11/1/1988 episode of CC on his Facebook page, he called it Game SHow Disaster 1 and Game Show Disaster 2. He had all of the maingame up, but didn't have anything past the end of the maingame up.

Buzzr skipped the Halloween Week, but it is known that there were two wins: Lana Love's win on October 27, and another on Halloween Day; don't know which car it was.
Did the 50's Sock Hop Week have a flat 50 second base time?

The 1PM episode today, the last in the latest pickup, had a familiar tiebreaker rebus, as a pic of Alex and Marjorie with Marjorie holding a picture of that rebus was in Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows. ALso a contestant plug was seen on the episode.

I believe Gene won a car (don't know what it was, maybe splinkynip knows?) in Game 2's Winner's Circle in #0289, and Margie in Game 1 and Jody in Game 2 both each earned a strike, with Margie being out. I finally watched this sequence last night (288, and the beginning of 295), and I agree that the available evidence supports this as the most likely scenario, and have updated my notes accordingly. In 289, Gene wins game 1; Margie is out with two strikes, and Gene does not win a car. Gene defeats new contestant Jody in Game 2, wins a car, and retires. Jody waits out the specialty week during episodes 290-294, and returns on 295 with one strike against a new player. However, the data supports another possibility on 289. Gene wins Game 1 and Margie is out with two strikes (same as before). Then he wins a car and retires. Two new players come on for Game 2; Jody and an unknown contestant. The unknown contestant wins Game 2, and then retires after he/she wins a car in the base time. Again, Jody waits out the specialty week during episodes 290-294, and returns on 295 with one strike against a new player. Presumably, this alternate scenario is unlikely, as the episode would already be as well known as 253 for having two car wins, with the second car win being in the base time.

Okay, despite the fact that two consecutive episodes were skipped, I think I may be able to piece together what happened in both of them. #0297: Mike won a car in Game 1's Winner's Circle at 55 seconds, and retired undefeated. Adrienne and a single new player started off Game 2 due to Mike retiring. Adrienne earned a strike a strike in both games, and struck out. #0298: Dottie didn't win any prizes in Game 1, and missed an opportunity to win many prizes in Game 2 (at least that's what it appeared to me from Alex's interview with her). Kyle in Game 1 and Dottie in Game 2 each earned a strike. Kyle was seen on the left side of the screen in Game 1 of episode #298, Dottie won Game 1 without any prizes, and yeah. Kyle won Game 2 without a single prize to show for because Dottie had 7 prizes on her side but failed to solve the solution. In fact, Kyle won almost $10,000 in prizes in Game 2 of the previous skipped episode(episode #297, aired July 14, 1988), and Adrienne earned a 2nd strike. I have just watched this sequence and I agree. 297 Game 1 was Mike over Adrienne, Mike wins a Car and retires. 297 Game 2 was Kyle over Adrienne, Adrienne leaves with two strikes. 298 Game 1 was Dottie over Kyle, Kyle earns one strike. 298 Game 2 was Kyle over Dottie , Dottie earns one strike. The key to this being exactly what happened is that "Kyle was seen on the left side of the screen in Game 1 of episode #298". I assume there is some photographic, video or other type of evidence? Apologies if this has already been referenced. (Without this, there are other possibilities.)

Today's "Classic Concentration" airing on Buzzr (the 3/2/1988 episode) had some kind of tape error as the audio was distorted near the end of the (interrupted) second game.

I have finally watched the first episode of the "best two-out-of-three" era (ep. 315), and something happened that had never happened before. A rebus that had been used in a prior game was repeated. The rebus for the tie-breaker game on episode 315 was the same rebus used in episode 77, Game 2.
As I had previously noted, beginning with episode 220, the opening rebus had been recycled from prior episodes in a consistent pattern. The pattern is such that it is possible to interpolate the opening rebus to some of the episodes that BUZZR has skipped. I will post a full report on all the patterns and interpolated rebuses after I have watched all the "fresh" episodes (only 48 left to go!).
In any case, it will be interesting to see if the repeated rebuses in the actual game continue, and if there is a pattern. Though it would be difficult to put in practice, there would be a HUGE competitive advantage to a contestant that could recognize a pattern of repeated rebuses.
