Better have the volume down when watching Press Your Luck tomorrow and the day after so the neighbors don't complain. Karen Martin ("Whammies, you can drop dead!" and "I need a pool table for Dan!") will be on. Thanks for the reminder, I've been waiting to see these ones for years.

There's an interesting story about the Karen Martin episodes that I once heard on Facebook. Rick Stern, who worked as an Associate Director on PYL, said that the reason they dropped the Karen Martin intro montage in Fall 1984 was because they got complaints from viewers who complained about seeing the show with that woman shouting all the time. Though they somehow found a way to sneak it in some 1985 episodes.

Schedules have been updated through the early morning of June 19th. Here's what I noticed
-Beat the Clock with Monty Hall will stay in the 8:30pm slot. It also retains its Sunday slots. LMAD is gone ladies and gents. -No more fresh episodes of Tattletales as of June 12th. They go back to episode #111 (whatever that is) -Press Your Luck will continue with fresh episodes at least until that point.

And for PYL, just before the start of the Home Player Game, and 32 episodes before as-of-2016-GSN territory.
Remember, if the original one inch videotape master for May 31, 1984 is damaged beyond repair, then there is no way Buzzr will ever air it. I believe it was said long ago on the GSN boards in 2003, in the "Why Doesn't GSN Show?" thread that it was GSN's copy that was damaged or in otherwise unairable condition. It didn't say it was the original master. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

For those of you with DISH Network your prayers have been answered. Buzzr has been added, channel 245 from what I hear. Me, I have DirecTV, so I'm hoping it finds its way there.

Just heard something, not yet confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.
BUZZR is being added to Dish Network's lineup (at least their Flex Pack), so if true, I won't need to rely on spotty OTA reception anymore!!!

Sorry, I didn't see your post before I posted mine. When I get home today I will verify channel 245 to see if it's active yet.

I hope Directv gets it soon. That'd be nice as opposed to having stream it from VLC player via Team Expat

Channel 245 on Dish confirmed. Picture is so much better than the bitstarved subchannel in my local market. It is now my goto channel over GSN now.

It's been nice seeing the earlier PYL episodes and I'm glad we have fresh ones now. I remember discovering this show when GSN was showing late 1984/1985 episodes, so it's been fun first of all seeing the show from the beginning all the way through (I missed out on GSN just as they got into January 1984), and secondly seeing some of these contestants' full episodes that were often used as a part of the clip montages during the opening. Even better, Buzzr's fresh PYL episodes are well into May 1984 by June 16. Getting closer to Home Player Sweepstakes I, a May sweeps stunt. Could this latest adding of PYL episodes be the most added to Buzzr's rotation? Given it airs in primetime, and many of the shows airing in the primetime block having added roughly 50 episodes in one shot, it wouldn't be surprising if Buzzr added at least 50 episodes of PYL like they did with Password Plus and $ale of the Century. Also, regarding Eubanks' Card Sharks on Buzzr, what is the latest episode number Buzzr aired? I know they aired Faith's record Money Cards win, which was Ep. 056, and last year, during the 10-week Card Sharks Week event, Buzzr aired the first 50 CBS episodes, and according to David Downs on YouTube, he did mention Buzzr had added just 10 episodes of said series, bring the total episode count to 60. Has Buzzr aired any episodes beyond #060 yet?

I think they acquired copies held either at CBS or a CBS affiliate. Probably because it is cheaper than acquiring the studio masters. Take into consideration, the January 17, 1984 episode of PYL. Buzzr's copy has a noticeable tape glitch, while GSN's copy was pretty clean. Just goes to show.

Also, at least two more episodes in the 100s range had longer than normal runtimes (180-181). We'll see if those get skipped, too, just like 147-148.

It got me wondering if GSN chose to skip #182 because of incredibly longer running time? GSN had no problem airing #180 and #181 because, while they may have ran for a longer duration, but then again there may have been speed-ups using time-compression tevhnology, albeit unnoticeable.. GSN speedups on Ep. 182 would be very noticeable, and make the episode laughable, hence why GSN chose to skip the episode.

Love to see Jim Perry's Card Sharks get more into 1978. Like finish the year out. Then we can see Norma take em all (November 1, 1978). Let's hope Buzzr gets more episodes converted soon
