Whoo. A lot of fights tonight. Get ready. EDIT: Spoilers-a-plenty below! Overhaul vs Lockjaw: A late hit was the controversy of the fight. Teams not happy. Judges say Lockjaw in a split decision, then everyone shakes hands.
Bronco vs Witch Doctor: TKO for Bronco. Witch Doctor into the screws - up and over.
Counter Revolution vs Tombstone: TKO for Tombstone. Massive beating of Counter Revolution.
Complete Control vs Ghost Raptor: A gift for Ghost Raptor is seen in a wrapped package before the fight. The box is opened and a net covers Ghost Raptor. The fight is stopped as the referees determine if the net is illegal. The teams confer. After two commercial breaks, a rematch happens.
Rematch: Ghost Raptor's blade broke, but Complete Control is slower than expected. A lot of pushing happens. Complete Control gets Ghost Raptor up over his head. Ghost Raptor gets itself out. Complete Control can't get going, but it's going to the judges. Ghost Raptor in an "I don't know" decision.
Other action, not seen in full...
Stinger vs Capt. Shrederator: TKO by Stinger. Capt. Shreaderator is turned over.
Overdrive vs Chomp: TKO. Spikes claim another bot. Overdrive wins.
Radioactive vs Sweet Revenge: Judges give the fight to Radioactive. Sweet Revenge couldn't make its spinner go.
Hypershock vs Mohawk: Family feud between son and the rest of the family. I think the son won; couldn't tell what bot was what.
Four moving on: Warhead. Chomp. Witch Doctor. Overhaul.

I wonder if they'll be able to fit in all eight remaining preliminary fights. Might be a highlight reel of a fight or two.

Two quick TKOs on the board. Might be seeing a lot of those as well.

Yep, thought so. They did indeed show highlights, of four fights. Now we wait to see if that one fight will be restarted, which I think it will.

I'm shocked Nightmare didn't get a wild card. I'm even more surprised that Warhead got one. Bias perhaps?

I'm shocked Nightmare didn't get a wild card. I'm even more surprised that Warhead got one. Bias perhaps? Probably based on how long they lasted in the fight and how much damage they inflicted before they were knocked out.

Probably based on how long they lasted in the fight and how much damage they inflicted before they were knocked out. But Warhead didn't do any damage to Biteforce and its blade stopped after about 30 seconds. I know that blade is lethal, but with all these awesome bots in the contest, I don't believe it will do much. I want it to face Tombstone next. Now THAT'S a blade.

Second week numbers are in, and a really interesting tidbit is included with them:

Sigh, I really wish NASCAR didn't decide to bump the 4th of July Cup race to tonight because now I have to flip between that and Battlebots. Thanks NASCAR. Maybe you shouldn't have made the move to NBC. Now you have to compete with Battlebots AND the women's World Cup. Real smart move. Also real smart making it a Sunday night race when most people go back to work the next day. Seriously, fire Brian France. This is so stupid.
Round of 16 starts tonight. I can't find a list of the fights for this round. I'm assuming we'll get four of the eight matches in tonight, with the other four airing next Sunday. Then the week after, we'll probably see all four quarterfinal matches and the week after that should be the finale with the semifinals and championship fight, with the possibility of a fight for third place or maybe even a battle rumble. Just my thoughts on how this might be done.

Okay, you just made me extra mad about today (and it's not your fault, don't worry). So. Much. Fail. I don't know if I can even comprehend with the overload of flipping I'm going to have to do in order to watch everything tonight.

And to make matters worse for those who are attending the race, there's a 60% chance of rain. So there's a chance the race might get delayed or postponed. If this happens, then it's a huge fail on NASCAR's part because the race would probably get put on the lesser known NBCSN if it is pushed back a day.
