I'm very excited for the new season and the celebrity list has me even more excited. I hope that with Vicki Lawrence coming back to television this fall with a new show that they have her on next season as another familiar face on the show during the '80s. They've more than likely filmed the third season of Pyramid in its entirety. It'd be nice to see someone like Markie Post appear too. Last time I was watching Chicago PD, she was recurring occasionally.

Getting a chance to catch up now and my new favorite thing is the show having the most salacious sounding categories, only to reveal the normal innocent nature of the category and everyone in the studio's sigh of disappointment. 😂
Based on Leslie Jones's twitter account and performances on SNL, I figured she'd be fun to watch on this episode. I was not disappointed. Also Julie Bowen is just as fun here as she was on Hollywood Game Night. The first half of this episode is lit.

This show has a problem that was the result of this past Sunday's show. Sarah Foster and her partner, after two rounds each, were behind 14-6 and therefore mathematically eliminated. The Mystery 7 had not been found by then, so Michael, in addition to giving the game to Erin Foster and her partner, but he also gave them the shot at the mystery 7.
THAT'S NOT RIGHT!
Shouldn't Sarah and her partner have been given a chance at finding the Mystery 7, since it would have been their turn? This is a clear violation of Standards and Practices! And you know how I am about Standards and Practices!
I'm sorry if I seem so ticked off about this, but yes, I am.

This exact scenario happened on $25K in 1987, and the team the lost the game had the chance to pick from the remaining two categories. They picked the Mystery 7 and the contestant won the prize.

Also the other player had the word "Shhh!" come up and you can hear her saying it along with putting her finger over her mouth.
I think to be fair they should bring Carol back next season.

They won't bring Carol back next season I don't think, since she was losing 14-6 anyway and there was no chance for her to win, but they could maybe award her the trip the other player won in the Mystery 7 as a make good. Will they do that or not I don't know.

I doubt that too with Sony behind it

For anyone interested, the August 26 show will have Rita Moreno. Meanwhile, the George Stephanopoulos episode may very well be shelved.

Yesterday's Pyramid had a first, as Mike in the first episode won both the max $150K AND the Mystery 7 trip, which no one else has done on this version. Cheryl Reinwand is the biggest Pyramid winner of all time with $150,800 and a trip to Fiji won in 1986. If Mike's trip to the Canadian Rockies is worth at least $800 more than Cheryl's trip to Fiji was in 1986, and I suspect it is, Mike is now the biggest winner in Pyramid history.

For Rita Moreno tonight, they stated that she appeared 110 times, and showed a clip from a 1982 episode. So let's recap here:
$10,000 CBS: 20 $10,000 ABC: 15 $25,000 SYN: 8 $20,000 ABC: 30 $50,000: 5 $25,000 CBS: 29 $100,000 '85: 5 $100,000 '91: 5 $100,000 '16: 1
Uh-oh. Did they skip over the original $25,000 version, which was weekly? Because that's the only thing that could justify Michael stating that the count is 110.

Interesting, the second half was a rerun of Julie Bowen and Leslie Jones. I guess the twerking bs was great TV

I was hoping it'd be a different episode with Leslie Jones, but then I remembered that moment of her saying "I can't with you" when Michael told her that the category was a mystery and he couldn't tell her what it was.
It was really really nice to see Rita do this show again.
