I just saw on GameTV's schedule for this coming week that two new classics have been acquired, and I can safely bet they're not returning to GSN any time soon.
The classic shows are The $100,000 Pyramid (Dick Clark version) and The Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks. Both are Sony-owned. Makes me wonder if The Joker's Wild will someday be acquired?
I wonder why GameTV won't acquire any classics from the Fremantle library, even just the cult classics such as Press Your Luck, older Family Feud and Match Game?

I wonder which batches of episodes/eras they're getting. I am hoping for the 1985-86 season of Pyramid. It seems as if GSN always stayed away from that season and only focused on the latter two seasons - possibly because of ratings. I remember ASN (now CTV Two Atlantic) did use to air The Newlywed Game in the afternoons during the 1985-86 season. If this will be the season GameTV will air, it may be apparent that GameTV may be airing bootlegs.

Having some access to it via IPTV, it looks like The Newlywed Game is from the late 90's with Bob Eubanks (not with the the 70's theme), and The $100,000 Pyramid right now is airing the beginning of the September 1987 tournament.
I have a strong feeling this statement is very far from the truth.

THe 1985-86 season of $100K did air on GSN a few times between Fall 1997-Fall 2000 or so, but outside of some random episodes over the years(New Years' Eve 2003 and one marathon around 2008 or 2009), hasn't aired on GSN since.

So what do you think is the reason then? I'm not sure why they haven't touched it. I'd certainly love to know the method on which GSN (or anyone else for that matter) leases their shows, and which seasons/episodes they decide to go with. But I doubt it's ratings, considering a 1985 episode would probably get the same ratings as a 1987 episode. It's the same show. As to what I think the reason is, I'm not exactly sure. That being said, I'd love to see the 1985-1986 season, and hope GameTV gets to it soon.

Just a heads up for anyone that has access to this channel, The Newlywed Game is now on everyday at 2:00pm, and The $100,000 Pyramid is now on everyday at 3:00pm. They must be doing well.

Just learned that Bumper Stumpers (1987-1990 USA Network original) is coming. I wonder if they'll show the entire run? GSN didn't do that; they showed only the first few weeks of season 1. www.igametv.com/shows/936/

Didn't GameTV show it on the network before?
As for the show, I'm not jumping for joy, but I'm not running to the toilet to hurl either, so it should be interesting to see again.

According to Broadcasting Magazine for March 9, 1987, Bumper Stumpers' first season was 130 episodes. They also stated in March 30, 1987 that Chain Reaction and Jackpot! were renewed for 130 episodes each for the 1987-1988 season.
Quicksilver (1994) also had 130 episodes, as did (allegedly, but not confirmed, because it ended after the 95th show aired) Free-4-All (1994).

Now for those who live in Canada and have GameTV, does anyone have a hunch on what week the $100,000 Pyramid is at and what season is Game TV rerunning for Bumper Stumpers? And if it's 1987 for Bumper Stumpers then there is a request to create an episode guide for them, since GSN only got to the first 65 episodes of the Bumper Stumpers series IIRC. Now Sam(Chameleonwhammy), you should be able to collect as many $100,000 Pyramid and Bumper Stumpers episodes from the Game TV airings and upload them as part of Game Show Theatre or upload them on to your Google+ channel just in case.

Looks like beginning January 8th, Bumper Stumpers goes to 1:00pm, followed by an hour of The Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks. Whose Line is it Anyway goes to 2:30pm, and The $100,000 Pyramid stays at 3:00pm.
and Mike Catherwood’s Chain Reaction joins the lineup airing some nights in prime time.
Bumper Stumpers lists episode #2081 to start. My personal problem though, it goes up against Match Game 77 on GSN, which I try to make an effort to record everyday. So until those switch over to 78, Bumper Stumpers will be a low priority on my recording list, meaning I might record it on weekends if the channel works for me.

#2081? Second season, which GSN didn't play?
