There was a contestant named Bettye Esch who was on TPIR on January 3, 1991. Her first name's spelling seems familiar. Was she the same woman who was a contestant on Eubanks' Card Sharks in September or early-October 1987?

Russ Stebick won $8300 on the 11/5/1985 episode of PYL, lost on 11/6/1985, and will be on the 8/11/2022 episode of PYL Russ, of the "playing against the house" where they'd have missed the Home Player Spin that day had he stopped early. (And, one of his hapless opponents that day was Tinker, who's often cited on "four Whammys in a row" lists where they stretch that definition to generate a longer list.)

I wonder when is Paige (contestant during the final three months, and also on Bergeron Squares) is gonna appear on the new PYL? Unless what Gregory Pearsoll says is true. (his exact words on Facebook about the final three months were "More likely it's due to the condition of the episodes towads the end of the run.. remember, many of the final episodes did not rerun..")

June and July 1986 did rerun on USA It will be a while before Buzzr gets that far in the run, however.

From this article about the new NBC revival of Password; www.tvinsider.com/1050647/password-revival-nbc-fallon-keke-palmer/"The season will also feature “legacy contestants” from the 1980s version of the show. These returning players will try their luck once again to see if they still have what it takes to win." Not sure who is coming back.

Season 39 Jeopardy Champion Martha Bath (episode 8, with $30,800, air date 9/21/2022) also appeared on the original Jeopardy in 1972 with Art Linkletter as host. She won $40 and a set of encyclopedias (which she said she still has!).
Her 1972 appearance was the topic of discussion on both of her S39 episodes during the contestant chat (she lost on episode 9). She revealed that her 1972 episode was not viewed by her husband b/c he was in the navy at sea in a submarine for both the taping and the air date, but was present in the audience for her S39 appearances.
Presumably, there is no surviving video from 1972, or it would be have been shown.

Though Fleming J! is missing, I don't know if I would necessarily use that as evidence.
They didn't show Scott Hostetler's original appearance on Press Your Luck when he returned on the 2002 revival, for example.

Is this the same Scott who was on WoF in 1978 who played the Star Bonus? Though Fleming J! is missing, I don't know if I would necessarily use that as evidence. They didn't show Scott Hostetler's original appearance on Press Your Luck when he returned on the 2002 revival, for example.

ONe recent episode had V who was on P+ in 1979 with Mary Tyler Moore and Bill Cullen one week and Betty White the next and Blockbusters in 1981 and another person who was on in September 1988 with Tom Poston and Dee Wallace Stones I was catching up on the recent Super Password episodes from my DVR, and was watching episodes 1026/1027 that aired on BUZZR on 8/16/2022 from 6-7 PM. There was a graphic indicating that the current contestant Sandy would be appearing on PW 2022. It turned out that Sandy was "other person" from Sept. 1988 who appeared on the new PW.
The new PW on 9/6/2022 had a brief clip of Sandy from her 1988 SP appearance. The episodes that BUZZR had selected (1026/1027) to air on 8/16/2022 were actually two different episodes.
