Today is the anniversary of Vanna White's official debut of Wheel of Fortune and the first puzzle was the hint of the daytime soap opera which doesn't belong to the daytime Wheel, it was also Philadelphia Week, which featured all contestants from that city, which otherwise is a regular week. Someone also has pics of Miami week from the September 20-24, 1982 week, but it also featured contestants from Miami that week, again it was a regular week in Burbank but featured footages of Susan Stafford in beautiful Miami at the episode's end.

Some facts and figures that occurred on this date, January 21: 1980: The All New All Star Beat the Clock had a change to where the team that won the toss-up stunt had to establish a time of completing the stunt for their opposing team to beat to win the $250 for their rooting section, yes there was a time when CBS was not #1 as a whole network. 1985: All of CBS game shows made some additions except TPIR was pre-empted on this day, but Press Your Luck begins its 2nd set of Home Player Sweepstakes episodes and Body Language begins using red and green nameplates(instead of both blue) above the scoreboards. If we kept track, Tim Topper won the Friday episode of the previous week, which gave Marcia Wallace the red nameplate and Fred Travelina the green nameplate.
