Our latest edition of "what happened on a skipped episode" concerns only episode 1035, as episode 1034 was aired by GSN this cycle.
As episode 1034 ends, challenger Harlan Barbonell leads one time champ Netty Kreuger by a score of 2-0 after having played one question in Round One. As episode 1036 begins, Harlan Barbonell has won one game and $100,, and the show begins with Harlan playing the Super Match.
So we must infer that on episode 1035, Harlan Barbonell defeated Netty Kreuger, that the game went into at least one tiebreaker, and that there was no Bonus Round played at all on Episode 1035.

One other comment on Episode 1036. It aired on August 22, 1977, six days after Elvis Presley's death on August 16th. When the challenger selected question B to start the game, GR read, "Elvis said, 'I'll tell you why I do so many gyrations during my performance. Just before I go onstage, my manager puts a <Blank> in my shorts.'"
Now, there were no specific references to Elvis Presely, but to me it is clear that the question referred to him. If this were today, I would be surprised if the episode were not pulled or skipped.

Not really a skips per se, but both 1043 and 1044 aired on Friday on GSN went straight to credit crunch after coming back from the last commercial, thus cutting off the goodbyes in both episodes.
Edit: And again today on 1046.

johnnyo , did GSN interrupt the rotation to show Christmas and New Year's episodes? Also, where are we at right now? GSN skipped episodes 1053 and 1055 to air two Xmas episodes from the 1121-1125 episode bloc. The GSN rereun date/times for these two episodes were Friday 12/23 and Monday 12/26 at 8:00 AM ET. Episode 1054 aired as "scheduled" on 12/23 at 8:30 AM ET. I have not watched or attempted to catalog these two Christmas episodes yet. At GSN's current rate, they would reach episodes 1121-1125 by mid February, so I am planning to watch them in sequence at that time (if GSN maintains their current rotation until then). According to @matchgame77gsn on Twitter (who always matches my notes exactly), GSN stayed in regular rotation, and aired episodes 1063 and 1064 on Friday 12/30, at 8 and 8:30 AM ET. I have not seen any of the GSN episodes from 2017 yet, so I cannot confirm if they aired 1065 on Jan. 2nd. Edit: The January 2, 2017 GSN reruns were episodes 1065 and 1066, so there were no New Year's related skips on GSN. |

Recently a number of the "skipped" episodes have been able to find their way to the trading circuit. I can provide info for why a few of them are skipped:
MG 73 #90 - Episode is skipped due to Brett Somers answering "a fag" to the first question on the show.
MG 80-81 #227 - The Tuesday episode from the Richard Kiel week - this is most likely skipped due to a question that was asked. Question was "Bernie was such a super salesman he sold the head of the KKK a trip to ____ ." The contestant responded Africa and matched 5 stars.
Hopefully some more of the skipped episodes will resurface soon!

For the record, GSN repeated episodes 1123 & 1124 on Friday February, 10 , 2017 in their regular turn, as part of the regular 8 AM /8:30 AM GSN rotation. In both 1977 and 2016, dates in December fall on the same days of the week, so GSN aired these episodes exactly 39 years to the day they originally aired. Regarding episodes 1053 & 1055, they should air in the 1:00 PM / 1:30 PM GSN rotation in late April, if the current sequence holds until then. |

MG75 #376 was skipped again by Buzzr last night. I was going through MG75 episodes and was wondering about this. I'm glad it wasn't just my DVR not recording it or me accidentally deleting it too early. |

#965, which was skipped by GSN for a MG90 Halloween episode back in October, was aired yesterday.
This bodes well for the two episodes that were skipped around Christmas.

I think it's hypocrisy that episode #0376 was banned because Gene made a back of the bus joke to Greg Morris, but when he made that joke to Barbara McNair in #0571, it wasn't banned.

Or it could be possible that it wasn't caught in 571. I assure you there's no conspiracy theory ideal in this stuff almost every time. |
