If anyone here is editing the tape dates for the "Super Password" Wiki page, leave a message. I have a bunch of them.

The second week of SP with Abby Dalton and CNR taped two days before it began airing.

Yep. Same is true of week 4. Probably why those weeks' celebs weren't listed in TV Guide.
I noticed the same thing about the Teresa Ganzel/Ed Begley Jr. week of "Pyramid" in September 1985: It taped four days before the Monday episode aired, and those two didn't appear in TV Guide. I wonder if a similar situation was true of the Vicki Lawrence/Nipsey Russell and Abby Dalton/Robert Hegyes weeks in 1986. Maybe they taped just days before their air dates and TV Guide had to go to press before celebrities had been booked.

I wonder if TV Guide listed Bill and Ann Cullen to appear on Tattletales on the May 31-June 6, 1983 week instead of Peter Marshall, interestingly, Dick Clark was also listed in the weekly TV Guide to appear on Tattletales but it wasn't meant to be at the last minute. BTW, Brendan and Vahan, I'm taking a wild guess and say that the Barney Miller All-Star week was taped in the early part of January 1988.

I'd like to ask the OP, what source did you get the data on celebrities on certain weeks? Newspapers.com? Google News Archive? Archived TV Guide publications?

pyramidfan look at this taping schedule for February 1985 I found from eBay. It lists Super Password for February 23-25, just like your list does. But, it also lists it for the 26th. I also don't see Scrabble listed; maybe it took February 1985 off?

I find the taping schedules interesting. SOTC taped twice on same day? Johnny Carson always taped at 5:30.

And looking at the episode listing for The Tonight Show for 1985, it matches up with February 100%.
For what it's worth, it did say on the bottom-left corner of the sheet that I posted that all shows were subject to change without notice, so maybe the February 26th taping for SP was cancelled.

How accurate are the 1987 episode numbers on markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Super_Password/Episode_Guide? Almost all of them seem to be numbered in the order of how they aired. That seems odd to me, given how many celebrity weeks there were. 1988 seems to be "normal," with some of the celeb weeks airing being aired in a different order than they were taped.

That seems odd to me, given how many celebrity weeks there were. 1988 seems to be "normal," with some of the celeb weeks airing being aired in a different order than they were taped. I think someone else added the numbers for most of these 1987 episodes. I only added numbers for weeks I was 100% sure of. 1987-wise, episode numbers from Nichelle Nichols & Tom Kennedy to Delta Burke & Stephen Furst are correct. Not only were there many celeb weeks for 1987, but one with David Leisure was skipped. What about 1988? Which two weeks can you confirm had four shows, and which ones had a skip when GSN aired them in 2007? I remember seeing four episodes for six different weeks from that year. Finally I remember you said they got off track once more in December 1988, but wasn't sure what it was. I thought it may have been Lockerbie, but that didn't happen until much later on in December 21. I know $ale of the Century and Classic Concentration aired as expected that day. Here's which weeks I only saw four episodes of on GSN. You should use the totals at the beginning and end of each episode as a guide. Dobie Gillis Week (February 08-12, 1988) Molly Cheek & Roger E. Mosley (May 23-27, 1988) Marsha Warfield & Pat McCormick (July 04-08, 1988) Anne Meara & Paul Kreppel (August 22-26, 1988) Dee Wallace Stone & Tom Poston (September 26-30, 1988) Lainie Kazan, Dorian Harewood, Chad Everett, Jack Jones (October 17-21, 1988)
