Any news on when this version might debut?
I really hope Fremantle doesn't screw this up. I have so many fond memories of this show and I hope this version lives up to the classic versions, especially the PAX one.

Supermarket Sweep will be coming back to ABC I had this strong feeling that when every news outlet said "ten episodes", this would be primetime. Which means that someone's going to make a huge bonus round when there really shouldn't be one. Hopefully, that's not the case.

Match Game plays for $25K. Maybe Sweep will as well.

Does anyone have a list of episode numbers and contestant names for what Buzzr has aired thus far?

I looked at that, but there are a lot of mistakes. Skipped episodes aren't accounted for and even some of the ones on Amazon with episode numbers aren't correct in the guide.

Gameshownewsnet.com confirms that Supermarket Sweep will be coming back to ABC with Leslie Jones as host. No word on an airdate or whether the format will be like the Lifetime or Pax versions. The new version hosted by Leslie Jones was supposed to debut on ABC in springtime, but they halted production due to COVID-19.

Episode 1 of the new season is in the books. Initial thoughts: Yay Supermarket Sweep is finally back and it's still very good! The gameplay hasn't changed much and I'm happy to say that. It's two episodes in one, so that's why it's one hour instead of half an hour. The big differences between this version and the David Ruprecht version in terms of gameplay: teams start off with 2 minutes instead of 1:30, teams don't have to ring in on the first question and instead a player from each team runs through the store to find the first product for a 10 second gain, there's a giant inflatable that has three different tags and the team that gets it has to peel off one after the shopping race segment, and the final round has been altered a little. The winning team still has to solve three riddles and find the three products in 60 seconds. If they succeed, they win $25,000. However, they have a chance to double that with one additional riddle. If successful, the team wins $50,000. If they fail, they leave with the winnings they earned in the race. If they solve that riddle, they can gamble for a shot at $100,000 with one more riddle.
The gameplay is still solid and fun to watch. However, I do have one big gripe with this version. I hope people don't hate me for saying this, but I'm not a fan of Leslie Jones. Her voice is rough on the ears. She is way too loud. Her commentary isn't that bad, but I can't stand her voice and tone. The energy she displays is alright, I'll give her that. This isn't a deal breaker though, I'm willing to overlook this and who knows, maybe she'll improve drastically over time.
In the end though, I'm so happy that this show is back and the gameplay hasn't been altered to the point where it's not fun to watch. It's still the fun shopping game show that you know and love (assuming you loved it in the first place). I'm just sad that apparently it's only 10 episodes (20 if you want to be real technical about it). I'm already looking forward to the next episode!

Play by play on the new Sweep: * Oh my. They seem to be using Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It" as the theme. * Teams have nicknames now. Team Sugar (two white women), Team Biscuits (two black women), and Team Wings (two white guys) in this first game (and I hope it's the first game). * I think they've got a black man as announcer. * Hey, Leslie mentioned David Ruprecht. (Not a full namecheck, but still. Half of America will be wondering "Who's David?") * She's got a lot of enthusiasm. She makes David look like a golf announcer. * Top prize is $100,000 (20x the original prize). * All three teams start off with two minutes of Sweep time. * Mini-Sweep: One member from each team races into the market to find the item. First to find it gets $250 added to their sweep total and :10 of sweep time. The Mini-Sweep theme seems to be a remix of the original. * We have a new character, Neil the Security Guard. * Those not playing stay to the side, but are quiet. * First Game: SweepRight. Name the mascot based on their dating profile. * Second game, Round Robin exchange. "Stop Fakin' It": Lock in the fake flavor variety. All three got it right, but they only got :10 each. * Round Robin time: "Logo Motion". Logos are revealed one piece at a time. * Leslie cannot shut up. I think I'll do a different post for the Big Sweep. * At the 12-minute mark, Team Sugar at 3:20; Team Biscuits at 3:00; Team Wings at 2:40. Leslie did not ask who's going to shop. * Again, Leslie Jones makes David sound like a monk. * The inflatables are back. * $500 Personal Shopping List: Leslie wants a Glade scented candle, a spatula, and a cucumber for her "Me Night". * Leslie is calling the Big Sweep from a "security office". She's in the lower right bottom of the screen. Now why couldn't we get Johnny or Randy to do that? * The stage lights up the color (pink, blue, or purple) of the team when they set off. * $300 for roses (and another character). * Golden Cans are on Aisle One. What Golden Cans? * D.C. Benny: "If you got the goods, I'll check 'em out". * The Golden Cans are worth $300. * Team Wings: $300 roses, $300 Golden Can, $150 bonus. Final total: $3,289. * Team Sugar: $250 Mini-Sweep, $300 roses, $200 bonus. Final total: $3,659. * Team Biscuits: $300 roses, $100 bonus. Final total: $2,923. Team Sugar wins. * Lights went red. * 5 riddles in 1 minute. * 1st Item: Chicken of the Sea. * 2nd item: Fresca. * 3rd item: Gillette. $25,000 won. Take the money or risk it and keep shopping, with 20 seconds added to the clock (in this case, 34 seconds total). Team Sugar goes for $50,000. * 4th item: Hunt's Ketchup. $50,000 won with 17 seconds on the clock. Take the money, or risk it with 15 seconds added to the clock (in this case, :32 for $100,000). They walk away with $50,000. Final total: $53,659.

Great except for her. Shes WAY too overbearing. SUPAMARKAAAAAT SWEEEEAAAAPPPPP! Good Lord. And having her announce the sweep too is a mistake.
If she tones it down, it'll be good. Gameplay is good, I'll give it that.

I saw some of Leslie's Supermarket Sweep and I couldn't get into it. I'm better off with David's version of it instead.

I don't believe that Leslie's Supermarket Sweep was like David's version of it. Leslie, herself, was too loud but David wasn't when he hosted the show.

This blog post perfectly describes my feelings for Leslie Jones as the host of Supermarket Sweep: thefederalist.com/2020/11/01/supermarket-sweep-remake-is-losing-its-coherence-in-flash/Three episodes in and to be brutally honest, she really hasn't gotten any quieter, I mean better. This might sound harsh, but I've grown to not like her voice. She's not as annoying as Trish Suhr for example, but that's not saying much. The show's still a lot of fun to watch though, so there's that.

That stereotypical Hollywood 1970s "yeah, I'm black and I have an attitude" voice, and I didn't think it was proper for Supermarket Sweep. Everything else about the game seems to be pretty cool though. It's just the host needs to tone it down a lil bit.
