Just watched CC episode 537, and the opening Rebus is "LOO+Seal B+Awl" (incidentally, a repeat of the opening rebus from ep. 183). Gene Wood somberly adds "We'll All Miss Her" in the middle of his otherwise typical opening spiel. Then AT comments that the puzzle was a tribute to that "late, great comedienne" during his opening remarks.
Ball passed away on April 26, 1989, so that would make the taping date of this episode shortly thereafter.

Tomorrow's 1:30PM EST airing of CC will be the third WOodstock episode which is on Youtube, and it has a phone number graphic at the bottom of the screen during the closing segment, like Combs Feud did. Perhaps they'll come back from commercial, and skip the goodbye segment and start at the end credits.

What songs were played in both episodes? I didn't recognize the songs in the current episode. The 8/17 episode had CCR's Born on the Bayou.

Classical Gas was played in the August 30, 1991 finale. Guess that bodes well for the song then.

Phyllis, the challenger on the 1PM EST 8/18/1989 episode, was on the skipped 3/9 episode and the aired 3/10/1989 episode, and was brought back because they didn't explain a rule change fully. The second and third rebuses on the 3/10/1989 episode had to be explained in part by Alex before they were solved, and Phyllis won the first game but not the match. In the bonus round in the 1PM episode with 40 seconds on the clock, Phyllis's first three picks match(picking seemly random numbers), and she winds up winning the car in 35 or so seconds. It's a 1/2145 chance that one's first three picks will match in the CC bonus round

Oh, July 7 was the VTR date for the Rick vs. Becky episode. The opening intro rebus reflected the VTR date of that episode, the air date was July 28, it was also the VTR session in which Scrabble had a minor set change from the pink tiles below the blue tiles to 4 blue tiles. Ok, so you are saying that the "Rick vs. Becky" is the MB B-day episode, and it was taped on MB's birthday. That makes sense. I just watched MGHSH episode #161. George Gobel's b-day was celebrated, which would make the taping date 5/20/1984, even though the episode aired on 6/13/1984.
Catching up on fresh CC episodes, and I have reached this episode. According to Mark Goodson wiki, this is episode # 561, which is skipped by BUZZR, but "in circulation".
Can someone please post the YT link to this episode? I have been searching, but cannot find it.
Thanks!

Thom is back due to an error, but I don't see him in any episode listings. Must have been during Spring 1989, an episode Buzzr skipped. I feels like episode 524 is a good candidate as his first episode. I found Thom, he was on episode # 459, day 5 (out of 5) of College Week, air date 2/24/1989.
He was the loser of the game where the prizes were placed on the wrong contestant's board (Game 2 on episode 459), and which I posted about on June 10, 2021.

Spencer is now the sixth contestant to complete the Winner's Circle at the Base Time of 35 seconds.

Possibly, but somehow, I doubt it. Thom is back due to an error, but I don't see him in any episode listings. Must have been during Spring 1989, an episode Buzzr skipped. For circulating shows, next up is one of the Woodstock episodes. Is Thom from the last day of college week from end of 2/1989?

Strange to see a contestant from a special week play on a normal one.

The episode with the MB opening rebus was on Youtube, the link for that one was made private at last check. Interestingly it wasn’t saved by Leppert
