In addition to the Revised Double Play Round, they also changed the main game.
Prior to the introduction of the Revised Double Play Round, the two main games were always one "regular" game, and one special game: either a "Three-Call" game (Call 3 #'s instead of 2, as needed), a "Really Wild" game (4 Wild Cards, with Guaranteed Cash prizes), or a "Free Look" game (spaces that allowed for puzzle guesses without a match).
Since the introduction of the Revised Double Play Round, every main game has either been "Three Call", or "Really Wild".
Also, the difficulty level of the Double Play rebuses has dropped considerably. IMO, the puzzles are much easier to solve since the introduction of the Revised Double Play Round.

Bob Hilton cameoed in 1990 to promote the revival of Let's Make a Deal? That's what I've read on the Goodson-Todman Fandom. Anyone remember this?
I wouldn't be surprised if there were cameos from Gordon Elliott and Lynn Swann of TTTT.

I think there's a picture of it in the second Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows,

Observations on the Love Week Episodes (445-6, 448-9) that aired on Monday:
- All shows featured opposite sex couples, both married and engaged. The men played the first game, and the women the second. The couples could collaborate of selecting numbers, but only the designated player (man or woman) could solve the puzzle. In the one aired episode with a tie-breaker puzzle, either person could ring in to solve.
- The woman on episode 445 played the most ruthless bonus round I ever seen. She made each call without pausing, which resulted in her owning the record for the most turns in a 50 second bonus round (21), the most turns needed to win a car, and the second most ever in any bonus round, exceeded only by a 23-turn, non-winning 65 second bonus round in episode 550. The previously known highest number of turns in a 50 second round was 19 (4x), and the most to win a car was 20, in episode 500.

The Cashpot debuted in late 1989, so that should be coming up in the next few weeks on the 1-2PM EST run of CC.

Interestingly, the first episode in the new batch (624) had a similar bonus round. Rick Rose won a car with 50 seconds on the clock by making seven matches in 22 turns, and still had five seconds left on the clock. That round is now the most turns ever needed to win a car, the most # of turns in a 50 second round, and the second most ever turns overall (win or lose) in any round.

A while back, I speculated that the Athelia Vs. Carlton episode was from December 6, 1989. I was right.
Also, pet peeve: I really don't like it when Alex doesn't say who walked away with a car on a skipped episode. That's three skipped episodes since April 1989 where I have no idea who it was. I still don't know when did Mark and Dan from the November 1990 Tournament originally play. That's mostly the reason why it's such a pet peeve for me.
Athelia Vs. Carlton is being skipped, unfortunately. Fortunately, it is in circulation from the original broadcast.

The second episode... Zach Horan, is that the same Mark who was also in the November 1990 Tournament? Assuming he returned later due to an error.
And speaking of the November 1990 Tournament, one of the next four car wins after Athelia's was Ken Lee's. Ken Lee was the winner of the second annual tournament; it was mentioned that his original run was in December 1989.
Ken Lee (December 1989) Georgeann (January 1990) Dan (March 1990) Wendy (April 1990) Dave (July 1990) Mark (September 1990) Stuart (September 1990) Jim (October 1990) Karen (October 1990) Stan (October 1990)

Confirmed: Cashpot debuted on November 13, 1989 during Twins Week. Even though the entire first week of the Cashpot was skipped, we can still determine the Cashpot with certainty for four out of the five skipped shows. On episode 637, the Cashpot debuted at $500. We don't know if it was won on 637, so it either reset to $500 (if won) or increased to $600 (if not won) on 638. Regardless of the value, we know it was won on 638, and was reset to $500 for 639. It was not won on 639 ($500), 640 ($600), or 641 ($700), and it continued to increased to $800 on 642, the first Cashpot episode aired on BUZZR.

This was Mark Romano (who is not in the Navy), and the TOC Mark is Mark Burr (who is in the Navy.)

The opening rebus in episode #658 (yesterday's 1:30 PM episode), "Foxy Lady", was used in a photo shoot of promotional images for Classic Concentration. (This rebus was also the tie-breaker rebus on episode 378). Here is a link to the photo page of the fandom site with images of Alex alone, and Alex and Marjorie together with the rebus. The other link is to a licensed image of Marjorie alone with the rebus. markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Classic_Concentration/Photoswww.imago-images.com/st/0100027919

Wal-Mart was not as widespread in late 1989, enough so that the shares of stock on the board on today's 1PM airing was spelled WalL-Mart
