Well, as the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end." And, as of today, after eight months of fresh episodes, Press Your Luck on GameTV has reverted back to the 1983 premiere.
I have to admit, I am pleased that GameTV has aired many of the memorable moments the first season had to offer. I am also happy that they didn't treat the Michael Larson episodes the same way GSN and just recently, Buzzr, did. Plus, they aired two of the episodes that GSN had been known for skipping. I am also pleased that GameTV aired all of the episodes in chronological order, unlike with GSN, though they did air some episodes out of sequence, but still fresh regardless.

There's a new Press Your Luck board game out that comes with a plush Whammy. Seems like the only place I can find it for sale is Barnes & Noble. Their web site has it and I've seen it in a store as well. Someone has also listed it on eBay for double the retail price. The Whammy plush looks pretty good. The only mistake is they should've made his mask yellow to match his suit and the original color from the show instead of making it a shiny gold color. The eBay picture gives a more accurate impression of the toy. The Barnes & Noble picture seems to be a mock-up that has the mask color closer to yellow but doesn't give a good impression of the shape of the toy. www.barnesandnoble.com/w/toys-games-press-your-luck-board-game/35009555

Beverlie Peters from episodes 233 and 234 (and a sneak peek in episode 219 seen with her friend Joy) was also a contestant on an episode of The Price is Right which has aired on Pluto, episode number 11_4783, originally aired February 2, 1983. She won her pricing game and made it to the Showcase but overbid and lost it. On TPIR she mentioned she was married and a mortgage banker. She didn't act too crazy on TPIR. Nothing as eyebrow-raising as what she did on PYL. This aired 18 months before she competed on Press Your Luck. Googling around I see you can apparently see a clip of her PYL appearance on a TV in the movie The Cable Guy.

The parting gifts on College Week were redubbed in 1986. For example, here's what were originally used for Day 1, followed by the redubbed versions:
Original: Dakotah Mattress Diet Shasta Today's Girl Pantyhose Blender Hawaiian Tropic Rug Doctor Success Rice
Redubbed: Lee Press on Nails Swintec Calculator KFC Mr. Freeze Pops Columbia Bowling Package Old Smokehouse BBQ
Buzzr (and USA and GSN) shows the originals.

Does anyone know why Episode 66 didn't air? It should have been on December 21, 1983, but the guide skips from 65 to 67.

I think Rick Stern (associate director) said it was incinerated because "the game sucked" (his words), and the match was redone with the exact same contestants.

OK, so yeah, we thought at first that GSN skipped the whole episode but #66 lasted but just 14 minutes and wasn't meant to be broadcast so that episode no. was erased.

I think Rick Stern (associate director) said it was incinerated because "the game sucked" (his words), and the match was redone with the exact same contestants. Is this the same reason an episode from Teen Week in 1985 didn't air? I remember seeing that they taped 6 episodes but only 5 aired.

I think so, yet that one wasn't incinerated.

Did the Teen Week episode that never aired on CBS air on GSN or Buzzr?

Currently, just GSN. It never aired on USA. UPDATE: It has since aired on Buzzr.
Side-note: A flashback intros guide, and a Buzzr airings guide.

How did Mel Blanc know to call the show on the Sylvester incident? They called him when the contestants cried foul on the question, and staged it to look like he called them.

Found this on Getty Images. A photo of the return of Trish Boyer, the woman with the biggest Whammy loss on the 1980's episodes with $35,000 ($17,500 at Double Your $$ + One Spin at Square 17, then a Whammy on the next spin). This image also confirms that her return was during the beginning of Jo Goodlo's run. Since Jo wasn't on for more than four days (otherwise, Peter would have said on Bruce/Jo/Paige that it was her last one), this episode aired on June 12, 1986, and was #705.

Mystery solved on what the episode number for this show was, it helped that Jo is in the image and her third and fourth episodes circulate along with most of round 2 for her second episode. Episode range of 701 to 705 remains missing when the last four Whammy animations made their debut (doctor, firecracker and judge voiced by gravelly Bill and the inistrumental orchestra)
