I think that the lack of big winners gives the audience an idea of what to expect. What's the point of watching a game show if the outcome (in this case, a meh one) is generally the same every episode? I can confirm this because I'm one of those people. I hate seeing the same result every time (which is why I'm thinking about quitting NASCAR; always the same few guys who win every week). Makes the show boring to be honest.

Yes because I love seeing people win big. I haven't watched much Millionaire since the Regis era, but from what I've seen, the latest formats have been awful.

It's called "Keeping the production company from going broke."

Our former Millionaire host Meredith Vieira's talk show got canned today after two seasons. One of the main reasons Meredith left Millionaire in 2013 was to focus on other projects, a big one being this talk show.

Wow, just WOW!
Some shows are just too iconic to die.

I bet Millionaire was renewed because it got enough ad revenue to keep the show going. Plus the ratings so far this season was never below 1.0 yet. I think it's safe to say that, as long as the average ratings is at least 1.0, the show will be renewed. If the ratings are low, the show must go.
I remember when John O'Hurley hosted Family Feud in his third season, it was not doing that greatly in the ratings, but got renewed thanks to average ratings being at least 1.0. Just goes to show.

Bumping because there's a promo out for next week's shows, "Instant Millionaire Week". Apparently, all the players are fans who were "surprised" at home, though I kinda doubt this given that one's wearing a suit and tie.
Looking at the logo alone, I honestly thought it was going to be a very crap ratings stunt in hopes of giving away the Million. Instead, "instant" seems to be used pretty much the same way it was on (for instance) Powerball Instant Millionaire, though at least there your odds of winning the Million were clear-cut.

And there's plenty more regarding Millionaire, including how it's been renewed for a few more years.

Today was Las Vegas Celebrity Week on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Robin Leach was awesome on it and i'm surprised he still has lots of energy and fun. To see how much he won please see the spoiler below Robin Leach ended up winning $10,000 for his charity which was Boys And Girls Clubs Of America I thought Robin Leach did pretty well on Millionaire and I hope they invite him back for the next Las Vegas Celebrity Week because he was very cool. My mom was surprised to see Robin Leach on Millionaire because she has always liked the show Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous and is a big fan of his. Did anyone see this episode of Millionaire today? Kelsey

I saw a contestant from America's Got Talent on today's episode of Millionaire and he was dressed as a dragon and he was so funny. Was this contestant from Millionaire from last year's America's Got Talent? He was so fun interacting with Chris Harrison Kelsey

Wednesday's April 11th episode had former SUper Password and $100K Pyramid 80s champion Danna Clements as a contestant. She won $5K after missing on a $20K question.
